Talking About Automotive Electrical Systems

Hello, I am Terry. Welcome to my website exploring automotive electrical systems. The modern vehicle is filled with electronics that run the integral components and ensure passenger comfort, safety and satisfaction. The electronics are all operated by the onboard computer in some way or another. Each system may include a multitude of sensors that talk to the computer several times a second. These interconnected systems keep your vehicle running efficiently. The systems can also alert you to a developing problem. Please feel free to use the information on my site to better understand your own vehicle’s electrical systems and identify problems before it's too late.

Extended Warranty? Yes, Please! Reasons Why You SHOULD Buy It

Leonard White

If you are about to buy a new car, or more to the point a used car that is new to you, then you might want to consider the extended warranty. Most dealerships will offer this add-on product on every vehicle they sell, and with good reason. Here are some reasons why you should purchase the extended warranty when it is offered to you on your next vehicle.

Murphy's Law: If It Breaks Down, It Will Happen the Day after the Original Warranty Expires

If you have ever owned anything of value and have a warranty with it, it will almost always break or not work the day after the warranty expires, or fairly close to it. The original warranties on cars are no exception, except that you have a really expensive piece of equipment and you probably cannot be without it when it does break down. By purchasing the extended warranty, you are tempting fate, but in a really good way. Your car will either last longer and not break down during the extended warranty period, or it will wait until after the extended warranty expires, in which case it will be time to trade in for a new vehicle anyway.

Some Extended Warranties Cover a Lot of Things the Original Warranty Does Not

Extended warranties often take into consideration that a vehicle is several years older now and different mechanical issues will arise. That said, your extended warranty may cover more than your original warranty did, and that can be a major plus when something does go wrong. These additional protective vehicle service agreements end up paying for some things that could cost you a fortune out of pocket otherwise, such as drive trains and electrical system failures. Just be sure to check with the dealer about anything extra it does cover before you purchase the extended warranty.

Other Extended Warranties Just Extend the Expiration Date on the Original Warranty

Of course, there are extended warranties that only cover the same things as the original warranty. The difference here is that the only thing the extended warranty does is extend the expiration date on the original warranty, thereby guaranteeing the promises in the original warranty. If you are particularly happy with the current warranty's coverage, then an extension of the same services for a longer period of time is more than sufficient. Most used cars may only have a month or two of coverage left when you buy the car, so the extension on these grounds is still an excellent idea.
