Talking About Automotive Electrical Systems

Hello, I am Terry. Welcome to my website exploring automotive electrical systems. The modern vehicle is filled with electronics that run the integral components and ensure passenger comfort, safety and satisfaction. The electronics are all operated by the onboard computer in some way or another. Each system may include a multitude of sensors that talk to the computer several times a second. These interconnected systems keep your vehicle running efficiently. The systems can also alert you to a developing problem. Please feel free to use the information on my site to better understand your own vehicle’s electrical systems and identify problems before it's too late.

Heading Out On A Road Trip? Don't Forget These Important Items

Leonard White

You have a few days off and the open road is calling your name to come and explore. Sounds like it is high time for a quick road trip. If you want a way to kill a few days and explore new places, a road trip is most definitely the way to go. However, before you climb in your car with little more than an overnight bag and a few fun ideas, you should make sure your ride is prepared for the trip. One of the easiest ways to spoil the fun of a road trip is to end up stranded miles away from home without a solution except a tow truck. Before you head out, make sure you have these things with you.

A spare cell phone charger and cord. - The last thing you want is to find yourself broken down and have no way to call for help. Pack along with you a spare phone if you can, but also make sure you have an extra charger and cord in case the one you already have stops working.

The name of nearby mechanics in your phone. - Hit up the yellow pages online or Google and find a few good mechanics in the general area where you intend to travel. If you have a foreign-made car, find a few foreign car mechanics like Wolfe's Foreign Auto. Copy their contact info into your phone so you know where to go if you have car trouble away from home. Never rely on cell data to get you answers in a pinch because, if you end up somewhere with poor reception, getting online with your smartphone is out of the question.

A spare tire, tire plugging kit, and tire changing supplies. - Before you head out, check your spare and make sure it is adequately filled with air. Pick up a tire plugging kit at the local auto store, which can be used if you discover a leak on your trip. Likewise, ensure you have all you need to swap a tire if something goes wrong. Some supplies to bring include a good jack and tire tool.

A gallon of distilled water or antifreeze, depending on the season. - If your radiator has a small leak and you don't discover the problem until you're miles from home, having antifreeze or water on hand can mean the difference between getting your car to a mechanic and being stuck on the side of the road.
